Whoever told you that is very misinformed! The composition of breastmilk does change as your baby grows, but it changes to be suitable to your babies needs at that particular age. Breastmilk is NEVER without nutritional value. The recommendation is that breastmilk be the main source of nutrition for the first 12 months with solids being "just for a taste" and WHO recommends the continuation of breastfeeding until age 2 or longer. Once bub is approaching toddlerhood food should be the majority of his/her diet but breastfeeding provides additional nutrition as well as supporting the immune system and brain development. Of course not all women can or want to breastfeed for that long, but you certainly shouldn't feel the need to wean thinking that your milk has no benefit
